I love to decorate for Halloween and I love creating my own DIY Halloween decorations. So this year I decided to try and pretty much do a black and white theme. I first decided on this color theme this when I was asked to designs and teach this “SPOOKY” banner class for church. The chipboard banner set and the jute twine is from Canvas Corp/7 Gypsies product line and the letters were cut out with my Silhouette.
Seriously I can’t believe I left my lens on the table.
I added these little Halloween images that I found at the craft store. The circle garland is just circles of black cardstock, American Crafts gold glitter paper and old book pages punched out with XL Fiskars circle punch. Here is a closer picture of the banner:
Recently I saw that Pebbles in My Pocket was doing a Halloween Craft off so I decided to do a few projects for it. But I ran into a few issues like developing a lovely case of pneumonia which took a few weeks to recover from.
Ok a little background about me here: Pebbles was the first scrapbook store I ever went to when I first started scrapbooking a long, long time ago. I think I used to own every Pebbles product they manufactured for the retail store. I even had several projects published in some idea books that Pebbles did years ago. I pretty much quit everything in the Scrapbook/Papercrafting Industry last year so this sounded like a fun way to do some projects since I hadn’t done much in the last little while and I sort of missed it.
Here is what I came up with-please excuse the plain board in the picture-I am working on a chalkboard for Fall/Halloween and it is not done yet:
Close up of bannerSince I was trying to avoid orange and other colors for the decor-I used the spider diecuts with some old book paper and a gold frame for a great little accent piece-love it!!Lastly, here is a little extra decorating idea:
I have had these little terracotta pumpkins for years so instead of just sitting them on a table or the mantle I set them on some mercury glass candlesticks-gives them a little extra presence.
